About Us
Safeguard Sprinkler Systems was formed by Dave Russell and Steve Williams, David has a background in Construction spanning 40 years and Steve has 40 years’ experience in the home Improvements sector.
How it began
In 2019 Steve was working for a group of companies and for 18 months was tasked with looking after a Residential Fire Sprinkler Installation and servicing company as caretaker MD.
It was during this period that Steve saw not only the opportunities that lay within the sector but also the good work that was being done. Steve says:
“ For years I had been going about my daily job, dealing with the day to day issues involved running any business, sorting problems for customers, dealing with contractors and product issues and to be honest it was all becoming a little mundane. Then I was asked to look over a medium sized company that was Installing and servicing Fire Sprinkler Systems. This was totally new to me, and I was dependant on the knowledge of the long-standing staff members. It quickly became apparent how Important it was to get it right, these systems were designed to save lives, it was in that moment that I was hooked, here lay an opportunity to not only run a viable business but also to make a difference, without exaggeration, to potentially save lives”.
In 2021, Steve’s time as MD came to a close but the fire had been lit by then ( pardon the pun! ). He put his mind to starting a company of his own in the Fire suppression Industry in order to continue the good work that he found so rewarding”. He approached an old colleague and friend Dave Russell. Dave says:
“ In 2020 Steve approached me and explained what he was doing, we met on several occasions and I have to say I was interested from the start, like Steve I was really motivated to be involved in something that actually makes a difference. We both agreed that if what we did on a day-to-day basis could actually be instrumental in saving a life there could be no better reward, so we got together, and Safeguard was born. We both bring different skills to the table, my background in Construction is Ideal for managing the projects externally, I’ve been involved in house building for 40 years, I know what works and what doesn’t, my standards are high as are my expectations in respect to the quality of work from our Installing engineers.”.
Steve has 40 years operational management experience and has an extensive sales background too, he has managed many business management systems such as ISO9001 (which we are currently implementing for Safeguard). He also has high expectations and strives to deliver an excellent customer experience. Clients are our life’s blood and once on board, Safeguard works hard to keep them happy.
